news · November, 30th 2024

HK40 marked the 40th anniversary of Hermann Kaufmann Architekten, celebrating four decades of innovation and excellence in architecture. Founded by Hermann Kaufmann, the firm has been a pioneer in sustainable design and resource-efficient construction, setting benchmarks in the field.

On November 15th, architects and thought leaders came together to honor this milestone and explore forward-thinking ideas. Francis Kéré shared compelling insights into his work, which bridges architecture and social responsibility. Florian Nagler introduced his “Simple Building” philosophy, advocating for sustainability and efficiency in modern construction.

The evening also featured a panel discussion with Francis Kéré, Florian Nagler, and Hermann Kaufmann, moderated by Verena Konrad. Together, they explored architecture’s evolving role in addressing global challenges and shaping a more sustainable future.

Kéré Architecture is also currently collaborating with Hermann Kaufmann and HK Architekten on the TUM Kindergarten project in Munich, which had its groundbreaking ceremony in October.
