Francis Kéré Celebrates the Launch of "Building Stories" in Milan

news · April, 22nd 2026

During Milan Design Week, Francis Kéré joined readers, colleagues and friends to celebrate the launch of his new monograph, Francis Kéré. Building Stories, published by TASCHEN. The day brought together conversations on architecture, community and the ideas that have shaped Kéré's work over the past two decades.

The programme began with a public conversation at Triennale Milano, where Francis Kéré spoke with journalist Caroline Roux about the stories behind the projects featured in the book. Reflecting on his practice, he shared insights into an architecture rooted in local knowledge, collective participation and the careful use of materials, offering a personal perspective on the design process behind many of his most significant works.

Following the discussion, guests gathered at the TASCHEN Store in Milan for a reception and an evening book signing. The event provided an opportunity for visitors to meet Francis Kéré, exchange ideas and celebrate the publication together.

Francis Kéré. Building Stories presents 26 projects from across the world through sketches, drawings, photographs and personal reflections, offering an intimate look into the thinking and collaborative processes that define Kéré's architecture.

The book is available from TASCHEN and through booksellers worldwide.
